Open access and copyright 

The NEXOS - Revista de Direito is compromised with democratization of scientific knowledge, for this reason, the journal adopts an open-access model, ensuring all publications are freely available to the academic community and the general public, with no fees for submission, review, or publication. Copyright is retained by the authors, with the journal granted permission to publish under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows the content to be shared and adapted, provided the proper credits are given and the original authorship is acknowledged. Additionally, the corresponding author is responsible for ensuring the originality of the manuscript, guaranteeing the integrity and quality of the scientific work published.

The journal adopts an open-access model, ensuring that all content is freely available to all readers. There are no charges for submission, peer review, or publication. The authors maintain the copyrights of their works, by granting authorization for publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), authors allow the use, adaptation, and distribution of the content, provided that proper credit is given to the original authorship. The main author is responsible for ensuring the originality of the article and obtaining consent for its dissemination at the time of submission.

Ethics and editorial practices

The publication guidelines of NEXOS - Revista de Direito follow the standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), aiming to ensure transparency and accountability at all stages of the editorial process. The authors are required to declare the absence of conflicts of interest which may compromise the integrity of the work. We emphasize that specific software tools are employed to verify plagiarism, authenticity, and similarity with content generated by artificial intelligence. Practices such as plagiarism, content duplication, fabrication or improper manipulation of data are considered serious violations and may result in the rejection of the manuscript or retraction of the publication, as applicable.

Publication Guidelines and Periodicity

The approved articles undergo a continuous publication system, whereby they become available immediately upon completion of the final editing stages. This approach obviates the need to await the assembly of a new issue for the content to be disseminated to the readership. At the conclusion of each semester, the published articles are compiled into an organized issue, which systematizes and consolidates the material released throughout the period. Each article is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), thus ensuring its traceability, proper indexing, and facile access across academic and digital platform.

Preservation and Visibility

Digital preservation systems are affiliated to NEXOS - Revista de Direito, ensuring the conservation of the periodicals and permanent access after publication. Furthermore, the Journal continuously integrates with national and international databases and directories, with the objective of enhancing the visibility and impact of the published research. This entire process is guided by rigorous standards of editorial quality, scientific relevance, and firm a commitment to the broad and accessible dissemination of legal knowledge on a global scale.

Data Privacy

NEXOS - Revista de Direito respects and protects personal data of all authors and contributors involved in the editorial process. In compliance with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the information provided is used exclusively for purposes related to editorial management, such as manuscript submission, review, communication, and publication. These data are handled responsibly, ensuring they are not shared or misused under any circumstances. Privacy, security, and the ethical use of information are core principles that guide our practices, reaffirming the journal’s commitment to transparency and respect for all parties involved in each stage of scientific production.

Plagiarism prevention 

With the aim of ensuring the authenticity and academic rigor of each publication, advanced tools such as iThenticate are employed to verify that submitted manuscripts are genuinely original. Conversely, texts that present high levels of similarity without proper citation will be returned for revision or rejected, in accordance with the journal’s policy of scientific rigor and commitment to academic integrity.

Corrections, retractions and updates

Any errors or inaccuracies identified after publication may be corrected through the issuance of errata, depending on the severity of the issue and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). It is important to note that such adjustments are permitted provided they do not alter the original content of the publication. Typographical, spelling, or formatting corrections are also accepted, ensuring the quality and clarity of the published texts. In cases where changes affect the substantive content, the journal will assess the possibility of issuing a retraction or republishing the article, always prioritizing transparency and the integrity of the editorial process.
