Open Access and Copyright Policy
RBGIDS is committed to open access publishing. All content is made freely and immediately available to the public, with no submission, processing, or publication fees charged to authors. Authors retain the copyright to their work and agree to its distribution under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits reproduction, adaptation, and sharing of content, provided the original authorship and source are properly acknowledged. By submitting a manuscript to RBGIDS, the corresponding author affirms that all co-authors are aware of and approve the submission and that the content has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
Publication Ethics and Best Practices
RBGIDS follows the ethical principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and upholds the highest standards of integrity throughout the editorial and peer review process. Authors are required to declare, at the time of submission, that their work is original, free of conflicts of interest, and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere, whether in part or in full. The journal takes a strict stance against plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, and data manipulation. Any violation of these principles may lead to rejection or retraction of the manuscript. To support the ethical integrity of its content, RBGIDS uses similarity-checking software such as iThenticate during the editorial review process.
Publication Model and Frequency
RBGIDS operates under a continuous publishing model, with two annual issues released in May and November. Articles are published individually as they complete the peer review and editorial process, without waiting for issue closure. This approach accelerates the dissemination of research and ensures timely access to new scholarly contributions. Each article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which guarantees persistent access, traceability, and citation integrity.
Digital Preservation Policy
To ensure long-term access and preservation of its content, RBGIDS participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which employs LOCKSS technology for decentralized digital archiving. In addition, the journal seeks to expand its indexing in national and international databases, increasing the reach and visibility of the research it publishes. Indexing efforts are guided by principles of academic relevance, technical quality, and alignment with recognized standards in scholarly communication.
Privacy Statement
All personal information collected by the journal—such as author names, institutional affiliations, and contact details—will be used solely for editorial and publishing purposes. This data will not be shared with third parties or used for any other purpose, in accordance with Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
Anti-Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts submitted to RBGIDS are subject to plagiarism detection using tools such as iThenticate. Submissions found to contain excessive unreferenced similarity with previously published works will be immediately rejected, regardless of content quality.
Policy on Retractions, Corrections, and Updates
RBGIDS is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When necessary, the journal will issue corrections, retractions, or editorial notes in accordance with COPE guidelines. These actions will be taken in response to identified errors, ethical violations, or concerns raised post-publication. Minor formatting or typographic errors that do not affect the content’s scientific meaning may be corrected without issuing a formal notice.
