Peer review process

Nexos Journal peer review process is conducted in a double-blind format. This approach aims to ensure the impartiality, transparency and academic quality of publications. Using this approach, authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the entire review process, guaranteeing the analysis is made exclusively based on the scientific merit of the work. Upon submission, the manuscript undergoes an initial screening conducted by the editorial team to verify its compliance with the journal’s guidelines and scope. Manuscripts that do not meet this criteria may be rejected by this stage, before going under peer review. On the other hand, approved manuscripts proceed to evaluation by ad hoc experts, selected based on their expertise in the thematic area of the article. Each manuscript is reviewed by, at least, two reviewers, who assess criteria such as originality, methodological rigor, thematic relevance, clarity of presentation and contribution to the advancement of legal knowledge. In cases of significant disagreement between reviewers, a third reviewer might be appointed to provide a conclusive opinion. The author receives a review report, which may result in acceptance, revision requests, or rejection. The final decision regarding publication rests with the editorial board, which considers the reviewers’ evaluations to ensure that only research of excellence is published in the journal.
