Guidelines for authors
The NEXOS - Revista de Direito welcomes the submission of original, unpublished articles in the field of Law and interdisciplinary themes. The manuscripts may be written in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Manuscripts must be original and must not have been published before, in whole or in part, in any format. The content of the articles is the sole responsibility of the authors and does not reflect any official position of this Journal.
Manuscript Formatting Guidelines
The text must contain
- Title (in Portuguese, English or Spanish)
- Full authors names, their emails, ORCID and institutional affiliation.
- Abstract (must contain up to 250 words) and key words (between 3 and 5) (also in the English and Spanish versions).
- The main text of the article should be structured as follows: Introduction, Theoretical framework, Methodology, Results and Discussion, and Final considerations.
- References (in accordance with ABNT NBR 6023:2018).
- Manuscripts may include up to six authors.
- Manuscripts must have a length of 12 to 20 pages, including references.
Formatting requirements
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Line spacing: 1,5 lines
- Alignment: Justified
- Paragraph indentation: 1,25 cm (first line only)
- Margins: 2,54 cm on each side
Tables and Figures
- Numbered consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1…)
- Centered
- Required source
References
- Organized in alphabetical order (not by order of citation).
- Single line spacing within the text and double line spacing between references.
- Left-aligned (no indentation).
- Only works cited on the text must be included in the reference list.
Ethics and originality
All articles submitted to NEXOS - Revista de Direito undergo an originality verification done by plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts presenting high levels of similarity with previously published materials may be rejected at the initial stage of the editorial review. In cases where the research involves human subjects, authors are required to present the approval number of the Research Ethics Committee, in accordance with current regulations. Not adhering to these guidelines may result in the manuscript 's rejection at the preliminary stages of review process. Therefore, authors are strongly advised to read the Journal 's editorial policies and use the template, available in the instructions for authors prior to submission.
