Author guidelines

Submission Guidelines

The Latin American Journal of Health Research, published by the Multiversa Network, accepts original manuscripts written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish that address topics in health or closely related fields. Submissions must be unpublished and not under review by any other journal. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their work, which does not necessarily reflect the views of the journal.

Manuscript Structure
Submitted articles must include the following:

  • Title in Portuguese, English, and Spanish
  • Full name(s) of the author(s), along with email address, ORCID iD, and institutional affiliation
  • Abstract (up to 250 words) and 3 to 5 keywords in all three languages (Portuguese, English, and Spanish)
  • Main text structured under the following sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Final Considerations
  • Reference list formatted according to APA (7th edition)

Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Line spacing: double
  • Margins: 2.54 cm (1 inch) on all sides
  • Alignment: left-aligned text
  • Paragraph indentation: 1.25 cm
  • Block quotes (more than three lines): indented 1.27 cm, same font size, no quotation marks
  • Tables and figures: numbered, centered, with captions (above for tables, below for figures)
  • Maximum of 6 authors per article
  • Total manuscript length: between 12 and 20 pages

References

All references must follow APA (7th edition) style, listed in the order they appear in the text, and formatted with double spacing. Only works cited in the main body of the article should appear in the reference list.

Ethics and Originality

All submitted manuscripts will be screened for originality using plagiarism detection software. Submissions showing a high degree of similarity with existing works may be rejected. For research involving human participants, authors must include the ethics committee approval number.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in immediate rejection during the initial screening phase. Before submitting a manuscript, authors are strongly encouraged to review the journal’s full editorial policies and to use the official article template available for download in the “For Authors” section.
